The idea behind the Internet book review was pretty simple really...
All day, every day, for years I've been writing, lots and lots of writing in fact. OK "great" you might say... except that it has all been business reports, long winded emails, proposals, prospectuses, training syllabuses, legal letters and the like... and none of it remotely exciting, or satisfying really.
By my reckoning I may have punched out 5,000 - 10,000 words a week for the past decade, if I were an author I'd have finished a dozen novels by now. Sadly I'm not an author, I'm a business manager so my best work ends being read by only a handful of people because they have to, then it's forgotten amongst the billions of word written in businesses each day.
I also read lot, but at least I have the chance to read what I want to... 50% of the time anyway. I've been hooked on reading ever since I was handed a copy of J.R.R. Tolkien's, The Hobbit when I was 11 years old, from then I've read 1000's of books. So many I have to keep selling them off or giving them away otherwise I'd be buried under my books, and if you love books like I do, parting with them is never easy.
Don't get me wrong this is not a whine about my life, it's just the reason why this site exists: To give myself and my fellow reviewers, who read a lot and write a lot, a chance to write about something we love, books!
I've tried to combine my skills as a graphic designer, printer, marketer and writer into this site to create an easy platform to share our thoughts about the books we read.
